Need a Miracle?

John 2:5 (New King James Version)

5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.

Was reading “my Utmost” this morning and as always it was God speaking directly to me and bringing order to a lot of disconnected thoughts. But this verse kinda got stuck in my mind and then I had that wow moment when the Holy Spirit makes what is just words, become truth.

When Mary told the servants to do exactly what Jesus told them they had no clue as to what was to unfold. But when they put ACTION to the command Jesus gave them, they became part of a miracle that happened. It must have seemed a bit weird to them to fill the containers with water, after all, it was not water that was required. Then too, it was a whole lot of water!

To further stretch their willingness to play along, water was taken from the stone pots and they then had to go to the master of ceremonies, and present it to him as wine. How utterly crazy is that. And the joker was the town’s carpenter. They must have discussed between themselves how they are going to end up being the ones to get beaten for this joke being played.

But then something extraordinary happened. The water THEY had put in the pots, the water THEY had drawn out, that water THEY handled throughout, turned to wine, and good wine too!! I am sure they were just a little bit more than surprised!

And so it is with me praying for a miracle. God knows where we are heading, he knows the road we will take and the outcome already, I just need to to be faithful in doing what He commanded…even if it seems like we are going to run aground. He has full control and in His time, we will see it all unfold and  look back at the miracles He has done to bring His word to fulfillment.

So we have water that needs delivering………
